Combining tradition, innovation and savoir faire in the world of exotic skins. This is the challenge that unites Italhide and White Line, two already established players in the industry who have reached a partnership agreement, ready to play a leading role in the luxury sector.
“We had been talking about this partnership for years, moved by mutual esteem, and we finally came to an agreement. It is something I personally believe in very strongly, and I am sure we will do very well together, offering products and customer services of the highest quality,” said Silvio Rognoni, sales manager of Italhide Spa.
On the strength of a total turnover of nearly 20 million euros, a completely renovated tannery in the Tuscan leather district and the historic showroom on Via Macchi in Milan, the group aims to supply the most prestigious luxury brands without forgetting small artisanal businesses.
“The fashion and luxury market,” added Enrico Chiesa, managing director of Italhide Spa, “is characterized by ever-changing realities. The recent pandemic has further accelerated this characteristic of theirs, placing us as suppliers in front of new challenges, in order to be able on the one hand to continue to contribute to the development of small Italian and European artisanal realities, which have conquered world markets with their flair and individualism, and on the other hand to structure ourselves in a dimension that allows us to collaborate even more with the realities that, from their small artisanal starting sizes, have been able to organize themselves better, becoming true luxury industries.”
The group, thanks to its international partners, with whom it operates exclusively, will offer crocodiles, alligators, ostriches, snakes and pirarucu, meeting the very high quality standards that today’s market demands without forgetting Italhide’s other historical products such as Tripon kid, pecary and lambs with characteristics that cannot be replicated by other players in the industry.
This new platform will distribute the excellence produced in the tannery in San Miniato through the channels of the dynamic commercial structure in Milan. “The partnership project,” explained Alberto Panterani, founder of White Line Srl, “was conceived in order to be able to give all our clients the highest quality of product and service, while maintaining the flexibility and timeliness that was already typical of both companies.”
The group’s watchword will be sustainability: one of the first goals will be to increase environmentally sustainable tanning processes on ethically sourced hides with full supply chain traceability: “The efforts made in recent years in helping our breeders achieve sustainability, social and animal welfare standards are now starting to give satisfactory results; Our suppliers have understood and made the philosophy of compliance their own: not a tool that burdens the production cycle but a powerful ally in achieving quality,” confirmed Domingo Panterani, Co-founder of White Line Srl.
Style and innovation will be the focus of product research, which will be continuously developed by pandering to the insights and suggestions of the major players in fashion and luxury.
